“Mah e Mir” is the story of a contemporary young man Jamal (Fahad Mustafa) who rebels against tradition and suffers the problems of love, loneliness and poverty in his life during which he knows about the condition of 18th Century poet Mir Taqi Mir. Director of film Anjum Shahzad said that it’s pleasing for him that his film will represent Pakistan in Oscar.
He said at least people there will see this film and know about the performance of Pakistani cinema. It’s enough that film like this is running as Pakistani cinema is at its initial stages as they have very few films like that. He added that media and people should support Pakistani cinema because it is a difficult and long situation.
